• Cameron Weiss Partner

    Cameron Weiss is a NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor and California attorney. Cameron has been in the business since 2009, gaining certification in 2013. That year, he became one of the very few first-year agents to have a player drafted, and has had a player drafted in every year since. In addition to the representation side, Cameron has advised players in a variety of capacities, including in the legal and marketing arenas.

    Cameron has struck endorsement deals for his players over the years with Fortune 500 corporations, all of the major trading card companies, and memorabilia organizations throughout the country. Cameron attained his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he graduated with a Juris Doctor in May 2012 and was admitted to the California State Bar the following year. Prior to attending law school, Cameron graduated from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in May 2008, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He has been in the representation industry since 2009, and prior to that was with the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball and with Qualcomm in their legal and business development departments. Beyond his business background, he is also passionate about philanthropy, and donates much of his time every year to helping out with causes he cares about – particularly those that aid in cancer research. Cameron hails from San Diego, CA, and currently resides in Santa Monica, CA.

  • Joe Barkett Partner

    Joe Barkett became a NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor in 2012 and has been leading the front on recruiting clients for Empire Athletes ever since. In his first year being certified, Joe was one of seven newly certified Contract Advisors to sign a player to the active roster or practice squad.

    Joe graduated from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Business-Cinema Television. He continued his education with a Master of Science degree in Human Behavior, graduating from the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at USC in May 2011. He finished his last class abroad at the London School of Economics studying International Marketing. Throughout Joe’s education, he has been working in the sports industry. He landed his first sports job when he was 20 working for Leigh Steinberg Enterprises. Since then, Joe has worked with two other sports agencies and spent 4 years in the front office of the Los Angeles Dodgers in a variety of different capacities. Joe is a NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor and has done extensive work on contract negotiations for marketing and player contracts, from both the front office and agent perspectives, during his career.  When Joe is not on a plane, he enjoys spending time with his family and close friends in Southern California.

  • J.R. Ross NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor

    Justin Ross became a NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor in 2012. In his first year being certified, Justin was one of seven newly certified Contract Advisors to sign a player to the active roster or practice squad.

    Justin is a graduate of Bloomsburg University, where in 2009 he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance with a minor in Legal Studies. He continued his education at East Stroudsburg University, graduating with a Master of Science in Sport Management in 2010. Throughout Justin’s education, he worked in both the financial and sports industries. Justin holds FINRA Securities Series 6 and 63 licenses from his work as a financial advisor. Prior to joining Empire Athletes, Justin’s experience in the sports industry has included working for a professional soccer team as well as another NFL representation agency. Justin enjoys spending time with his family and friends and in addition, coaching soccer during his free time.

  • Kristopher DiGiovanni General Counsel

    Kris serves as a legal advisor for Empire Athletes Agency as a whole, as well as providing legal representation for individual athletes when needed.

    Kris’s legal expertise primarily focuses on transactional corporate law, including marketing representation agreements and endorsement deals, but he has also assisted Empire Athletes clients in a diverse array of legal matters that are outside of sports or sports business. Furthermore, Kris is well-versed in the latest NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) to assure Empire Athletes complies with specific League rules. Kris attained his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he graduated with a Juris Doctor in May 2012 and was admitted to the California State Bar in the same year (SBN #288258). Prior to attending law school, Kris graduated from the University of Miami’s School of Business Administration in May 2007 with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. Kris’s work experience includes time spent interning for in-house counsel at Jack in the Box® and legal advisor to The Buried Life, LLC, formerly of MTV Networks. Kris is a member of the Sports Lawyers Association (SLA), Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) and American Bar Association (ABA).

  • Conor Gilligan Baseball Operations

    Conor Gilligan is an excellent evaluator of talent and has built an extensive network throughout the collegiate and professional baseball communities. Conor identifies and recruits prospective baseball clients, while also assisting in administrative duties for Empire Athletes. As a former player, Conor brings an additional perspective to clients’ needs and concerns.

    Conor is currently pursuing his law degree at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. Prior to attending law school, Conor graduated from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management, while minoring in Business Administration. While at UE, Conor pitched for the Division 1 Purple Aces. He won the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in 2014, and finished his senior campaign with a 1.39 ERA. Conor was recognized on the MVC Honor Roll and Dean’s list for his accomplishments academically. Conor hails from Cincinnati, Ohio and currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
